Proxy browser versus antidetect browser

A proxy browser changes the exit. It does not isolate fingerprints or jars. Use this comparison when the tool in question is only a proxy wrapper.

Proxy browser versus antidetect browser 1

A proxy browser changes the exit. It does not isolate fingerprints or cookie stores. If the tool in front of you is a Chrome window with a proxy field, you are looking at a wrapper. Use this comparison when the purchase page used the word antidetect and shipped only a tunnel.

Authorized work only. A new street does not make a login yours. This note sits in Antidetect browsers so the stand-ins stay named.

What a proxy browser is

A browser (often stock Chrome or a thin Chromium) that lets you paste host, port, user, and pass, then sends traffic through that line. Some add a country picker. Some add a built-in pool. The cookie store is still one store unless they also partitioned profiles.

I have used wrappers like this for a single authorized dashboard that had to leave through a specific country. Fine tool. Wrong category.

What an antidetect browser is adds a dedicated user-data directory and a fingerprint record. How antidetect browsers work is the mechanics. How to choose asks whether the product is a wrapper or a launcher.

Mismatch is the usual failure

A German exit with the office clock still on New York is a tell. Language headers that still say the office language are the same class. WebRTC publishing a local candidate beside the proxy is a leak, not a feature.

MaskWright aligns timezone, locale, and geolocation from exit geo (ip-api.com) when a proxy is attached. The lookup leaves the machine. A wrapper that only sets --proxy-server does not do that work.

Custom Chromium versus system Chrome still matters. A proxy in front of stock Chrome is stock Chrome on a new street.

Nearby substitutes

A system VPN is a coarser proxy browser: one exit for the whole PC. Agencies that wrap every client plus personal Chrome in one VPN link those logins on the street even if cookies are split.

A VM versus antidetect is isolation at the OS. Browser-as-a-service is a hosted Chrome plus a vendor exit. Mobile is not a desktop profile: a carrier proxy on a desktop wrapper is still a desktop browser.

MaskWright parses HTTP, HTTPS as an HTTP forwarder, and SOCKS5. TLS-to-proxy is not implemented for the https type. Connectivity check is TCP connect, not a full handshake. Know those limits before you trust a green badge. We do not broker traffic.

When the wrapper is enough

One authorized login. You already live in Chrome. You only needed that login to leave through another country. A proxy extension or a wrapper is smaller than an antidetect app.

When you have several authorized identities, a wrapper that shares one cookie store is how pixels meet. Buy the launcher, or buy Chrome users, but do not call the wrapper antidetect.

How I tell a wrapper from a launcher in ten minutes

I look for a user-data directory I can find on disk. I look for a fingerprint record that survives a relaunch. I look for timezone following the proxy. If all I get is a proxy field on stock Chrome, I am holding a wrapper. Fine for one authorized dashboard that needed a country. Not fine for two businesses.

I also try launching without the proxy. If the product refuses to open, it is a proxy company with a browser skin. MaskWright opens profiles with an empty proxy field. That is a tell I like.

Mismatch check: set a DE proxy, look at the clock in the page. If it is still the office zone, the wrapper did not finish the job.

FAQ

Is MaskWright a proxy browser?

It accepts per-profile HTTP or SOCKS5. It is not a proxy product. Isolation is the job. You bring the line.

Can I use a proxy browser and Chrome profiles together?

Yes. You still share a hardware story. If that is enough, stay there.

Why do purchase pages mix the words?

Because "antidetect" ranks. Read whether you get a directory and a fingerprint record, or only a proxy field.
