Facebook personal versus business rooms

Personal login versus work rooms. Keep birthday Facebook out of Ads Manager. This page is about room purpose, not about multiplying people. One PC, many rooms.

Facebook personal versus business rooms 1

I keep birthday Facebook out of Ads Manager. Same human, two jobs, two local profiles. This page is about purpose, not about multiplying people.

The useful caveat: a personal login and a work login that Meta already expects you to use as one person are still allowed to be one person. Isolation does not invent a second citizen. It stops cookies, pixels, and download trays from mixing when the jobs should not mix.

Why the mix is expensive

Personal Facebook carries friends, Marketplace, events, and whatever you clicked at 11pm. Work Facebook carries Pages, BM, ads, and pixels. One Chromium folder means one cookie store. The 11pm browsing then sits next to ad spend.

Facebook Business Manager isolation is the work side. Facebook pixels stay in brand rooms is why a pixel helper in the personal profile is a mistake I only make once.

Multiple accounts on one PC is the parent how-to. MaskWright 0.1: Windows 10/11, local user-data-dir per profile, no seats. profiles.json is encrypted. The live Chromium tree is not.

What I put where

Personal profileWork profile
Friends, events, MarketplacePages you admin, BM, Ads Manager
Personal pixel-free browsingPixel helpers for that entity
Everyday scrollingBilling and Business settings

I do not create a third "backup" Facebook identity. If Meta already uses one personal login as the admin identity behind a BM, I still keep the heavy personal scrolling in the personal folder when I can, and I do work in the work folder. When Meta forces one login for both, I still avoid installing work pixels in the personal profile.

Access for other people is a role, not a cookie. Facebook page roles, not cookie dumps.

Limits are not a fingerprint puzzle

Facebook ads account limits are business facts. A second personal-looking login to dodge a spend cap is not isolation. I will not write that chapter.

Same split on other networks

Reddit brand versus mod is the same idea. Reddit sessions on a local profile. Reddit moderation accounts. TikTok pixels do not belong in the Facebook personal folder either. TikTok pixel and cookie bleed.

How I set the two profiles

Two empty profiles. Official sign-in on each. 2FA on a device I hold. Optional HTTP or SOCKS5 only if that job already uses an exit. No cloned user-data directories.

Household IP is allowed. A shared street does not mean the cookies have to share a folder.

On a real Windows desk

Personal Facebook is the profile I open after hours. Work Facebook is the profile I open with the invoice folder. Same tower, two names in the MaskWright list. I do not use the Facebook account switcher as a substitute for two user-data-dir trees.

If Meta already forces one login for Page admin and personal identity, I still refuse to install work pixels in the personal profile. I still refuse to export customer audiences into the personal download tray. Purpose can be split even when the identity cannot.

I keep 2FA on a phone that stays with me. I do not screenshot codes into the work profile's Pictures folder. I close the work profile before I open Marketplace in the personal one. Bulk start is for several work profiles I already run, not for opening personal and BM at once "to save a click."

Unsigned builds and SmartScreen are a Windows trust note. They are not a reason to run BM in a rented browser so a vendor holds both the birthday login and the ads login.

FAQ

Meta says I should use my real identity. Does a second profile violate that?

A second profile is a second cookie store on your PC. It is not a second fake person. Use the real accounts Meta issued. Keep the jobs from sharing cookies when the jobs are different.

Can I just use Chrome profiles?

You can for a simple split. I use MaskWright when I also want a per-profile proxy field, a chosen core, and a folder I can back up on purpose. Chrome profiles still beat one mixed everyday window.

Should work bookmarks live in personal?

No. Bookmarks, extensions, and downloads follow the profile. Work bookmarks in the work folder.

What if I already mixed them?

Stop adding more. Create a clean work profile, sign in through the official page, leave the old mixed folder as personal or retire it. Do not export the mixed cookie file into the new work profile.

Keep personal scrolling in one local folder. Keep BM and ads in another. Invite people with roles. Do not invent extra people.
