2FA stays on a real device. No SMS farms. This how-to keeps recovery and prompts in the physical world, not inside a rented profile. Local Windows notes only.

Keep the second factor on a device you can hold. Do not park it inside the profile. A local Chromium folder can hold a session cookie. It should not hold the authenticator, the SMS inbox, or recovery codes sitting in Downloads. Those belong on a phone, a hardware key, a paper envelope, or a password manager you already trust.

I will not write an SMS-farm chapter. This how-to is for accounts you are allowed to open on one Windows PC.

What 2FA is doing

The cookie says you are in. The second factor says a person who holds a device approved the new device or the risky action. If you move 2FA into the same folder as the cookie, you turned two factors into one stolen zip.

Cloud browsers make this worse. A rented profile that also receives SMS or hosts an authenticator extension is a full takeover kit on someone else’s disk. Local Windows is better custody. It is still a bad place to screenshot backup codes.

Practical setup I actually use

  1. Create the MaskWright profile. Run the first-profile checklist.
  2. Log in to the account you already own. Instagram business on a local profile is the Instagram version.
  3. Approve 2FA from the phone in your pocket. Type the code. Do not save the code in a note inside the profile.
  4. Put backup codes in the same place you keep the rest of that company’s secrets, not in Downloads for that Chromium.
  5. Prefer platform roles over extra logins when a contractor needs access. Platform roles versus extra logins.

Multiple accounts on one PC does not mean multiple fake phone numbers. Platform terms still apply. Household IP versus isolation can share an ISP and still keep cookies apart. 2FA stays per account, on real devices.

Cloning, cookies, and codes

Cloning a profile safely means a stencil without a live session. If you clone a logged-in folder, you cloned the cookie. You did not clone the phone. The next person still needs 2FA for new challenges, unless you also handed them the authenticator. Do not do that.

Instagram cookies and session hygiene is export and custody. An export is a live key. 2FA does not make a mailed cookie safe. It only slows the next login from a new folder.

On a shared family PC this gets sloppy. A teenager’s Chrome, your MaskWright, and an authenticator screenshot in Pictures is how a second factor becomes a JPEG. Put backup codes in a password manager vault that is not the profile, or on paper in a drawer. Delete the screenshot. Empty Recycle Bin if you have to be that person.

I also will not host 2FA in a cloud browser “so the team can approve logins.” That is a shared token with a landlord. Local Windows plus a phone in a pocket is the whole design.

If the only reason you wanted a MaskWright account was to share a login, that is the seat we refused. Use the platform.

FAQ

Can I use an authenticator extension in the profile?

You can. I do not. If the folder is copied, the TOTP secret is copied. A phone or a hardware key survives a stolen user-data zip.

What about WhatsApp Web inside the same profile?

That is another session. Treat it like a login, not like 2FA infrastructure. Keep personal WhatsApp out of brand profiles.

Do you support passing 2FA automatically?

No. MaskWright is not an agent runtime. A person types the code. Download MaskWright launches a headed profile. The phone stays in the real world.

The Social media hub is isolation for logins you already hold. Second factors stay off the disk that holds the cookies.
